Sustainable furniture, sustainably made

SUSTAINABILITY PRINCIPLES

In the past, the furniture industry hasn't really been known for its enviromental credentials.

We’re trying to change that, which is why we developed a series of sustainability principles to guide our way, and chart a new future for the industry.

1. Create beautiful furniture that lasts

There’s a place for furniture that lasts a few years, but it’s not here. We only use long lasting solid woods, and even the fabrics we use have been extensively tested for durability, pilling and colour retention.

That’s why we’re happy to provide our guarantee. Bring it back within five years, we’ll repair or replace it for free.

2. Build it from sustainable materials

Our selection of fabrics have also been chosen because of their eco-friendly credentials, while our timbers are FSC certified, ensuring they come from a sustainable source.

We also use water-based paints, recycled metal and foam where possible, and our table tops are a high pressure laminate, made from almost 70% recycled wood.

3. Reduce emissions as much as possible

Our production facility in the heart of Cairo is almost completely hydrogen powered, and hydrogen powered buses take our employees from home to work and back every day.

Air-Source-Heat Pumps are used in all of our premises, and we adhere to the highest ESG standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FIRA and FISP.

4. Work with responsible partners

We asses any new suppliers to ensure they’re operating sustainably and ethically, with diversity, equality and inclusion policies also being considered. Even the shipping companies we use have to clear goals towards net-zero targets.
